Kavisa Cyprian Wood,
BS, IBCLC

My name is Kavisa (she/her). I'm an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Prenatal & Vinyasa Yoga teacher, and business owner of Nourishing Justly. I completed UC San Diego's Lactation Consultant Program with a clinical internship at UC Davis Medical Hospital. I also have specialized training in bottle refusal, tethered oral ties (tongue/lip ties), and oral habilitation (IBCLC Master Class). I serve on the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Breastfeeding Coalition. My work is centered around justice, health equity, and nourishing community well-being.
I'm a data nerd hence my bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University and my previous career in Data Management Consulting. I'm originally from New York and now live in Sacramento, CA.
I met my husband in Tanzania while we were both teaching high school Physics and Math as Peace Corps Volunteers. As a result, both my husband and I speak Swahili. Our family was created via a blend of foster care adoption and biological birth. We have 2 daughters and 2 sons.
